Allow access to folders

Use Choose Folders to Access in the sidebar or Choose Folders on the overview. Select the folders you want to scan and clean. For developer projects, use the Projects folder button. macOS may keep some files protected even after you authorize a folder; Full Disk Access does not remove App Sandbox restrictions.

Why are scan results empty?

Check your selected folder, file type and minimum size. Confirm the app has access to that location. Empty results can mean there are no matches or that some locations are inaccessible. Simulator and runtime cleanup are unavailable in the App Store version.

Free scanning and Pro

Manual scans and previews are free. Cleanup and scheduled checks require an active Pro subscription. Open Pristine Disk Pro to view Apple's current plans and any trial available to your Apple Account.

Restore or manage a subscription

Choose Restore Purchases in the app using the Apple Account that made the purchase. Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Apple handles billing and refund requests.

Scheduled scans

Checks run while Pristine Disk is open, including in the menu bar. Notification permission is required for alerts. A closed or sleeping Mac can delay a check. The app never deletes files automatically.

Cleanup and recovery

Read each confirmation carefully. Files moved to the Trash can usually be restored until the Trash is emptied. Caches and some developer files are removed permanently. Keep independent backups of important files.
